ACTS Gerontological Research Institute (AGRI) was created to use scientific methodology in applied research to explore how to improve the way services are provided to our nation’s older population today and to prepare for the older adults of tomorrow. It is the goal of AGRI to be one of the nation’s leaders in research that will benefit both givers and receivers of care and services for people over 65. AGRI is an operating division of ACTS Retirement-Life Communities, Inc.

AGRI is focusing on the practical aspects of providing care and services for older adults that are related to physical, social, spiritual, psychological, environmental and wellness issues. The 18 ACTS communities provide services to almost 8,000 residents and employ over 5,800 staff members to provide this care. These communities have a wealth of knowledge about what works – and what doesn’t – in meeting the needs of older people.
